Additionally, Moving Pictures Film and Television announces it will be selling the late John Daly’s film library, which includes one of Daly’s last directorial works.
Leading into the Cannes Film Festival next week, Moving Pictures Film and Television (MPFTV) recently closed several licensing deals with several North American companies, including Starz, Monarch Video, Questar, TVN and Morningstar Entertainment. Deals were made with foreign territories as well, including Russia, Poland, Turkey, Japan, Germany, Thailand and Taiwan.
MPFTV acquired foreign licensing rights to the horror classic HELLRAISER IV: BLOODLINE last week, and it will debut as a re-issue in many territories at the MPFTV Rivera stand (D4) in Cannes.
Additionally, MPFTV announces that it will be selling films from the library of FAME (FLME:PK) Film and Music Entertainment, the production and distribution company headed by late industry veteran and former Academy Award-winning producer John Daly (“Platoon,” “Terminator,” “The Last Emperor,” “Hoosiers”). Many of the films have won numerous awards at international film festivals, and various territories are still available for distribution. Award-winning titles covered in the deal include one of Daly’s last directorial works, “The Aryan Couple” (aka “The Couple”), starring Oscar winner Martin Landau, as well as the action thriller “Played,” starring Val Kilmer and Gabriel Byrne; the thriller “Dead Water,” starring Lance Henriksen; the horror film “Killer Weekend,” starring Eric Roberts; and the quirky comedy “MoonPie,” starring Michael McDonald of MAD TV fame.
Included among the North American and Foreign Territory deals are the following:
-In North America: Starz (THINK TANK, HAPPY CRICKET, LEGEND OF TILLAMOOK’S GOLD, TRAIN MASTER and THE CONTROLLER), Monarch Video (THINK TANK), Questar (TILLAMOOK’S GOLD), TVN (FATED and MY APOCALYPSE), Morningstar Entertainment (LITTLE BIG TOP, THE HAPPY CRICKET and MOONPIE).
-In Russia: Murena Entertainment (THE HAPPY CRICKET, MEMSAHIB and DEADWATER), Automatic Media (BLACK KNIGHT RETURNS, GREEN RIVER and MY APOCALYPSE).
-In Poland: Epelpol (THE HAPPY CRICKET and THE MEMSAHIB), Canal Plus (DO IT FOR JOHNNY DEPP and THE FUTURE WE WILL CREATE), TVP (THE AMERICAN RULING CLASS).
-In Turkey: Plaza Media (THE HAPPY CRICKET, TRAIN MASTER and DEADWATER), Horizon (THE CONTROLLER, THE ABDUCTED, BEING MICHAEL MADSEN, THE BLACK KNIGHT RETURNS, THINK TANK, INTERGALACTIC and ADVENTURE CAMP).
-In Japan: Transformer (INTERGALACTIC and THE BLACK KNIGHT RETURNS).
